The 2017 Festival of St. David Meeting

We are looking forward to yet another very well-attended Festival of St. David Meeting on Friday, 24th. February - another meeting to remember!

The principal labour in the lodge room will be an entertaining and informative presentation entitled "Charley’s Aunt was a Freemason.” by W.Bro. John Harmshaw. The presentation is John's entry in the Worcestershire Provincial Lecture Competition, and is a lighthearted look at Actor Freemasons in Victorian times.

Following our labours, we will celebrate the feast day of the Patron Saint of Wales, St. David (Dewi Sant) at our festive board. Our Worshipful Master, W. Bro. Kevin Nock will commence proceedings with our traditional ritual opening of the festive board, reminiscent of the ancient Bardic Eisteddfod. We will then enjoy a fine four-course Welsh dinner of Potato and Leek Soup, Roast Welsh Lamb with seasonal vegetables, Snowdon Pie, Cheese Board, Wines and Coffee and mints.

Once again, Bro. Secretary, W. Bro. Graeme Llewellyn Collins will act as Director of Music, leading the brethren in a highly entertaining musical interlude - including an allusion to the action at Rorke’s Drift, Natal on the 22nd January 1879, when members of ‘B’ Company, 2nd. Battalion, the 24th. Regiment of Foot (the South Wales Borderers) assisted by others totalling 139 troops successfully defended the station against a sustained onslaught by 4,500 Zulus. ELEVEN VC’s BEFORE BREAKFAST!

Visiting brethren will receive a very warm welcome if they wish to attend our unmissable event - just email our Secretary via the Contact link.

Our Regular Meeting - 22nd. April 2016

The Brethren of Cyfrinfa Dewi Sant will be treated to some fine ritual at their regular meeting on Friday, 22nd. April. Visitors are, of course most welcome to join us for any of our meetings at our new home at Kidderminster Masonic Centre. Simply contact our Secretary by using the 'Contact Us' button.

Not only will W. Bro. John Harmshaw, of the Page Lodge No. 3378 present the lecture he entered in the recent Provincial Lecture Competition to the lodge, he will also present, on behalf of the lodge, a Grand Lodge Certificate to Bro. John Rogers with his own unique variation on the standard presentation.

The title of W. Bro. Harmshaw’s presentation is “A Tribute to W. Bro. Tad Gawronski – World War II Fighter Ace” – an inspirational Freemason.

Family Sunday Lunch at Rainbow Hill

It’s the custom in our lodge for each Worshipful Master to organise an annual social event to celebrate the support and commitment of the wives of our members.

14-07-27-FamilyLunch.jpgOn this occasion, our Worshipful Master, Ken Dunham arranged a family lunch on Sunday, 27th. July 2014 to which non-masons and their families were also invited.

The luncheon was held at the Worcester Masonic Centre, Rainbow Hill, Worcester, which also accommodates the Worcestershire Museum of Freemasonry – the largest collection of Masonic artefacts and memorabilia in the UK, second only to the collection of the United Grand Lodge.

The day began with a fascinating and informative guided tour of the Library and Museum, followed by a highly enjoyable three-course lunch with wine – all provided at a cost of £20 per person. Some of our members and their families are pictured below.

As a gesture of gratitude to the Museum staff for giving up their valuable time to attend to us, our guests arranged a collection following which a cheque for £150.00 was donated to the Museum by our Worshipful Master.
